We are an independent practice, in Taunton, that has been looking after local pets for over 35 years.
We care for dogs, cats and small furries in Taunton, North Petherton and Bishops Lydeard, providing traditional values with modern facilities and techniques.
We cover most aspects of veterinary surgery and medicine including vaccinations, routine and emergency services, medical investigations, dental work, dietary advice, etc.
We provide our own out of hours service, in familiar surroundings and with our own team of vets and nurses. If your pet falls ill or is injured, we will be there for you, whatever the time of day. We provide our emergency vet service to our clients in Taunton and the surrounding areas, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We are approved by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) as a practice that can train small animal nurses. We invest strongly in training and equipment to be able to continue our practice’s long tradition of high standards and to care for your pet as you would wish.
We have three surgeries located in the Taunton area
Ian graduated from Liège University in Belgium in 1997 and has worked in France, Belgium and the south of England in both mixed and small animal practice. Ian took over responsibility for Priory Close Veterinary Practice in September 2008. He has three young children, a retired guide dog, a rescued Labrador, a ferocious hunter of a cat, has inherited an overgrown garden and in ever hopeful of enjoying some peace and quiet.
Robyn graduated from Bristol University in 2014 and first worked in a small animal practice in Berkshire. She moved to Somerset to be with her Partner who works as a Farm Vet in the area and joined the practice in September 2015. She has a particular interest in surgery and especially likes working with cats. She has 1 rescued cat of her own and is looking forward to collecting a lot more animals in the future.
Nicola qualified from Bristol University in 1986 and has worked in several practices in the South West. She usually works part time at Priory Close but is happy to step in to help when Ian or Robyn are away. She spends the rest of her time walking her Collies and Exmoor Lurcher, riding her horse and working on her small holding rearing cows, sheep, ducks, geese and chickens.
